Triathlon 101 Clinic: Race Day Prep - Transition, Hydration and Nutrition!

Date: Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:00pm!

Join Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis and Todd Lawless, local Triathlon Coach from Team in Training, as we discuss how YOU can accomplish a smooth and efficient transition - and feel confident in your first (or next) race in 2013! Also, Todd will be touching on how you can successfully coordinate your hydration/nutrition during the race based on your individual needs!

This is the fourth clinic in our Introduction to the Sport of Triathlon Clinic Series – and this time, we’ll be focusing transitioning, nutrition and hydration for race day success!

Topics Will Include:

  • Setting up your transition area
  • What to do before, during, and after T1 (swim to bike) and T2 (bike to run)
  • Tips for more efficient transitions
  • Transition competition (need to bring ALL race gear except bike)
  • Nutrition for Race Day 
  • Hydration for Race Day

Bring Your Gear!

This will be an INTERACTIVE clinic - where each attendee will be practicing transitioning with his/her own gear! Please bring your cycling and running gear (no bikes needed) - as well as a towel and flip flops. You may wear whatever you would like to (running gear, swimming gear, etc.) while practicing transitioning.

Our Triathlon Coach, Todd Lawless, has been participating in triathlons for the past 10 years – and began his triathlon journey with Team in Training after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 17. He is now a Triathlon Coach for Team in Training, and helps beginners and advanced triathletes alike accomplish both running and triathlon events in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
