Learning All About the BIKE!
Date: Thursday, September 27th at 6:00pm
Join Fleet Feet Sports Annapolis and Todd Lawless, local Triathlon Coach from Team in Training, as we show YOU all you need to know about completing the bike leg of a triathlon!
This is the second clinic in our “Introduction to the Sport of Triathlon” Clinic Series – and this time, we’ll be focusing on all the basics of riding a bike.
Not sure if you’re bike is ready to ride? Bring it in – and two mechanics from our partners, Capital Bicycle will be here to do FREE safety inspections on all bikes! Also, they’ll help be making recommendations on what you can do to your bike to make it ready to train on, and ride longer distances!
Don’t have a bike yet? Not a problem! We’ll have Capital Bicycle on-hand to recommend the right bike for you to complete your first triathlon.
In this clinic, you'll learn:
- How your bike should fit (in a bit more detail)
- How to change a tube if you get a flat
- Proper body position
- Pedal stroke
- Bike maintenance
- Safety while riding (on trails and roads!)
Our Triathlon Coach, Todd Lawless, has been participating in triathlons for the past 10 years – and began his triathlon journey with Team in Training after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 17. He is now a Triathlon Coach for Team in Training, and helps beginners and advanced triathletes alike accomplish both running and triathlon events in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
We’ll be following up with more clinics on swimming and running throughout the fall /winter that will go into more detail on training to set you up for success in the 2013 season!
